This artwork is an elaborate reimagining of the decadent set of the Bollywood film Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela—a pivotal film in the artist’s life. While delving into the traditional haveli architecture of India, this piece celebrates the boldness, tenacity and spirit of South Asian women by way of the spaces they inhabit. A personification of Leela herself, Leela’s Bedroom is a dramatic rendering of the woman and is a true amalgamation of digital illustration, historical research and interior design.
